Big Sky Kalahari Adventures offers truly personalised service underpinned by a passion for people and Africa. The team thrives on providing incomparable personal attention and mindfulness around every detail in a relaxed environment where the aim is for you to call the lodge your home.

The fascination attached to exploration of vast tracts of African bush is powerful.

As more roads are cut in many other existing reserves which are commercially driven (packed with vehicles, people, and lodges), these reserves experience increased popularity which means a flurry of traffic and people around every sighting, so remoteness and intimate wildlife encounters are lost. With Big Sky Kalahari Adventures, every experience is yours to enjoy in peace and tranquility whilst enjoying the privilege of 240 000 acres all to yourself. Experienced guides are on-hand to track and guide you off the beaten track where wildlife sightings and photographic opportunities are private and personal. The result is unique vantage points, truly undisturbed landscapes, and unrushed days on safari where no strict schedule dictates the days activities.

About Big Sky Kalahari Adventures

Big Sky Kalahari Adventures’ standards of excellence and countless safaris provided to international clientele account for our enduring good reputation. We bring an ingrained passion for Africa, respect for its wildlife and ecosystems, and its people to everything we do. We have chosen to be different from other lodges, reserves and safari operators by offering our Guests exclusivity of the Lodge and all 240 000 acres of this pristine Kalahari Wilderness during your stay.

Funded by limited wildlife viewing safaris and very limited responsible and sustainable hunting safaris, this premier Kalahari Wildlife Reserve boasts flourishing game populations including threatened species such as Wild Dogs, Cheetah, Black and White Rhino, along with all of the Big 5 and a multitude of antelope species and an array of other fauna.

A note about your hosts!

Russell and Kathy have been involved in safari camps for the best part of 18 years. They have been the lodge management team at the reserve since 2015. They are passionate about the lodge, the guests, their staff and the magical reserve they are blessed to work in. Russell and Kathy say that “living in the remote Kalahari is a very different experience, being 4 hours drive from the nearest supplies reminds us of how far away we are from the rest of the world. The remoteness adds so much value to a safari experience which is why this reserve is unique and undisturbed.” Kathy and Russell are amazing Bush Chefs, they are passionate about the great outdoors and love sharing this magical wilderness with their guests. “We strive to provide our guests with a warm and welcoming ‘family atmosphere’ where guests feel totally at home, unrushed and relaxed.” Their goal is for you to call their lodge, your home away from home which is understandable since our guests have the entire lodge and all 240 000 acres of this wilderness exclusively to themselves!
